I’m a total bagaholic! I don’t necessarily own a ton of handbags but I do admire the craftsmanship put into the making of these bags from some of my favorite brands. I put together a list of 5 designers that I feel offer good quality bags and accessories. If you’re shopping for a new bag, check out these brands.
Some of my favorite bags are from Michael Kors. They’re durable, sturdy and very well made. It’s like these handbags were made for me!
Michael Kors handbags are good for just about any occasion although I personally like to wear my Michael Kors for work or work related events. They’re elegant and stylish enough without overdoing it on the color and details. In other words, the brand doesn’t look cheap or tacky.
My favorite line of theirs is called the Hamilton line. I tend to lean towards their larger Hamilton size but have recently been on the lookout to buying one of their smaller sized ones. My more recent purchase was the Michael Kors Mono Stripe Navy Hamilton Tote in the large size pictured here:
This bag would be perfect for a boat trip as it screams nautical style. Pair this bag with a striped navy sweater (or full navy), a pair of white sailor shorts, and some Sperry boat shoes and you’re good to go!
Kate Spade is one of those brands that has a mature side to it but at the same time also offer quirky and cute accessories as well. They also cater to any age group.
I fell in love with this brand once I saw one of their more interesting clutches (like their dictionary and hot air balloon clutches). Then you just get sucked into wanting all of them (or maybe that’s just me)!
I usually don’t buy Kate Spade at full price because the company runs 75% off flash sales once every few months. In fact, they just had one last week. In case you missed it, sign up here to get notifications for their surprise sales.
If you’re new to Kate Spade, check out some of their fun accessories:

I found out about this brand pretty recently and I’m very glad I did. Now I get to share this brand with you!
Although some of their bags can be a bit expensive (ranging from $200 – $800), their quality is superb and well worth the high dollar amount. If you’re looking for that “IT” satchel or messenger bag as I have for several months now, then you really should take a look at this brand’s selection. They come in a variety of sizes from mini to large, usually have two pockets – a smaller front pocket and the larger back pocket, and a magnetic, snap front closure. My absolute favorite of theirs is their Rider Satchel which have adjustable back straps for strapping onto the front or side of your cruiser bike! Super cute!
Coach has been in my life for several years now. I’m personally not a huge fan of brands that have their own logo etched throughout the exposed part of their handbags, but coach can definitely pull it off.
The brand has soooo many selections and soooo many different swatches to choose from it can be overwhelming what to go with. Fortunately, Coach bags are on the more affordable side and there are many outlets to purchasing a brand new one (including Poshmark and Ebay to name a few).
My two favorite lines, to this day, are their Legacy Stripe and Tattersall Wool, featured here. If you can still manage to find one of their handbags, I highly recommend snatching it up (Check out ebay and Poshmark).
This brand is a bit on the expensive side but there are several places to own a Tory Burch bag where you don’t have to pay full price. I don’t own any of their larger handbags (yet!) but I do own a lot of their shoes and a clutch.
If you’re looking for a starter Tory Burch bag, check out the Ella Nylon bag that retails for $195.00. This bag is roomy and larger enough to carry all your essentials (even a laptop).
